Oakwood Creative Care is a 501-C3 located in Chandler AZ. One of their initiatives is to provide a place and programming for our neighbors who suffer from memory loss and other associated issues.
For several years, they have been providing programs like adult day care, education, therapy, and counseling for both the affected and their families. Two years ago, Oakwood Creative Care announced a capital project called the "Perfect Place". The Perfect Place is a concept that has a brick-and-mortar requirement. In Fall of '24 they were able to purchase a 12000 sq ft building on the corner of Alma School and Ray. They are in the process of building this out to meet the needs of the programs and services they will be offering.
The Rotary Club of Sun Lakes has already contributed a $5000 grant to Oakwood Creative Care for capital improvement on their new facility. This District grant would also be directed toward capital improvement. The library in the "Perfect Place" will have a plaque recognizing the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes for its support. We would like to use this $1000 grant along with $1000 of money from our club to help build out the library and have permanent Rotary Branding present. The facility will be open for use this coming June and Rotary Club of Sun Lakes will be present.
The Perfect Place will not only serve members of our community but will have many volunteer opportunities for Rotary members from our club and other Rotary clubs in the area.
