Summary: Providing necessary equipment for Alaskan children living with disabilities.
Our club's goal is to work with Challenge Alaska to provide necessary outdoor winter gear and equipment to help breakdown barriers that exist for children in Alaska with disabilities. This equipment will help such children engage in activities to build confidence and security, increase mobility and improve health. These activities also promote education, social engagement and independence. Our club members will participate not only in fundraising and delivery of the equipment but also participate through the year in partnership with Challenge Alaska in the varying physical activities which will further educate and connect our community. In addition, our club plans to host a gear drive in the late fall to ensure that all children are properly outfitted for any inclement weather they may encounter in participating in these activities.
