Area of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention
Young women from Central Asia working in the water sector lack opportunities for high-quality education within the region. They are smart, professional, dedicated, and want to do more for the region. They have experience working in the water sector for many years and they speak sufficient English. However, they are also young women - they are mothers with little kids and therefore they can't leave for long to study masters or to have a longer training outside of the region or places where they live. This is their strong limitation, which does not allow them to advance in their careers through seeking graduate degrees and contribute more to solving water issues in the region. This grant will support their participation in IHE's Water Cooperation, Conflict and Diplomacy short course for 2 weeks. IHE Professors Aaron Wolf, Jenniver Shering, Bota Sharipova (a Rotary Alumni from Kazakhstan) and other strong experts are teaching in this course.https://www.un-ihe.org/courses/on-campus/water-conflict-cooperation-and-diplomacy. It is proposed this grant support a Vocational Training Team composed of 6 such young professionals from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and a Team Leader from Kazakhstan.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
