Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Navi Mumbai Total Budget: $36,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Title: Disease prevention and treatment - Endearing little heart Implementing Partner: Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust Rotary Partner: Rotary Club of Smart City, Navi Mumbai Location: Panvel Block, Raigad District, Maharashtra, India Project Period: August 2025 - June 2026 Project Objective: To save little children by blocking hole in the little hears of young children upt 10 years of age Preamble : It is estimated that about 2,00,000 children are born every year in India with Congenital Heart Diseases (CHD). Of these only about 2% receive proper treatment. The rest are left to fend for themselves since their parents donot have the resources for Corrective Pediatric Heart Surgeries. District 3142 has a tie up with Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust super specialty hospitals in Navi Mumbai for performing such surgeries at special rates for Rotary. The Hospital has done over 34000 surgeries and patients come from all over india as well as from outside india - see attached document The Hospital is fuuly equipmed with • 10 Pediatric Cardiac Operation Theaters • 3 Pediatric Cardiac Cath Labs • 300 dedicated beds • 125 Intensive Care Unit capacity • 40 Specialists • 900 Manpower: Medical, Nursing, Para Medical, Administrative & Support Staff Budget Breakdown The average cost per child including all medical expenses, free accommodation and food for the parents is Rs 1,50,000 ( 1760 USD) Proposal is to support 20 children @ 35200 USD Impact & Monitoring: • Will have direct impact on the family of the patient as the child will get new lease of life • Rotary club members will visit the child patient before and after operation. Obtain progress as per the hospital norms. Execution & Disbursement: • Rotary Club to disburse funds to Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust. • Sai Sanjeevani to execute program & share beneficiary data and reports. Rotary's involvement will be a catalyst for a generation of healthy child and family.
