Project Description Country: USA Location: Placentia Total Budget: $2,200 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: PLACENTIA To provide backpacks and grade-appropriate school supplies to approximately 70 students, grades 1 thru 12, residing in an at-risk neighborhood in the city of Placentia, who are participants in an non-profit program known as LOT 318. The filled backpacks will be distributed to each individual student at OT 318's end-of-summer BBQ. Having the necessary school supplies will enable the students to fully participate in the learning environment; the students will then be encouraged and empowered to see their self-worth and purpose, drawing them away from gang activities.
